Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the WeekYear website at weekyear.com (the "site"). It explains what information is collected when you use the site, how it is used, and the choices you have. It does not apply to third-party sites linked from WeekYear.
Information collected
WeekYear does not require accounts and has no sign-up flows. The site does not knowingly collect personal information directly from you. Information that is collected arrives automatically via your browser and the third-party services described below:
- Standard request data. Like most websites, WeekYear's hosting provider receives standard HTTP request data — IP address, user-agent string, referring URL, and request time. This is used to serve pages, diagnose technical issues, and protect against abuse.
- Analytics data. Aggregated usage data is collected through Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-JLVSK2CBY1) to understand which pages are useful.
- Advertising data. The site shows ads served by Google AdSense, which may collect data through cookies and similar technologies.
- Local browser state. Interactive features (calculator inputs, the printable-year field) keep transient state inside your browser only; it is not transmitted to any server.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies on the site come from Google Analytics and Google AdSense, described in detail in the Cookie Policy. WeekYear itself sets no first-party tracking cookies.
Advertising
Google AdSense may use cookies and device identifiers to show ads, including personalized ads where permitted. Google's use of advertising cookies is described at policies.google.com/technologies/ads. You can manage ad personalization at adssettings.google.com, and opt out of third-party cookies in your browser settings. Where required (for example in the EEA and UK), a consent mechanism governs whether personalized or non-personalized ads are shown.
Legal bases (EEA/UK)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, processing rests on: legitimate interests (serving pages, security, aggregate analytics), and consent (advertising cookies and personalized ads), which you may withdraw at any time via the consent controls or your browser settings.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and similar laws), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal information, to object to processing, and to data portability. Because WeekYear itself stores no user accounts or profiles, most such requests concern data held by Google; the links above lead to Google's controls. For anything else, contact [email protected] and we will respond within the timelines required by applicable law. California residents: the site does not "sell" personal information in the conventional sense; third-party advertising cookies may constitute "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under the CPRA, which you can opt out of via the cookie controls described above.
Data retention
WeekYear keeps no user database. Analytics data is retained per Google Analytics' configured retention period and then deleted or aggregated. Server logs are retained by the hosting provider for a limited period for security and diagnostics.
Children
The site is a general-audience reference and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction).
Changes
This policy may be updated as the site or regulations change. The effective date above reflects the latest revision; material changes will be visible on this page.
