Terms of Use

The rules for using WeekYear. Effective May 9, 2026.

Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using WeekYear at weekyear.com (the "site"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Use of the site

WeekYear is provided as a free reference utility for ISO 8601 week numbers and calendar planning. You may use the site for personal and commercial purposes, including:

  • Looking up the current ISO week number and week range.
  • Converting dates to ISO week codes for use in tickets, files, and reports.
  • Generating and printing year-in-weeks calendars for your own planning.
  • Quoting short excerpts from the guides with attribution and a link back.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the site in a way that violates any applicable law or regulation.
  • Attempt to disrupt, overload, or interfere with the site's normal operation, including by automated scraping at a rate that degrades service for others.
  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of any system associated with the site without prior written permission.
  • Reproduce the site's written guides in full on another website or product without permission. Short, attributed excerpts are fine.
  • Remove copyright notices, the WeekYear name, or other identifiers from any materials you redistribute.

Intellectual property

All written content, layout, design, code, and graphics on the site are the property of WeekYear unless otherwise noted. The ISO 8601 standard itself is owned by the International Organization for Standardization, and references to it on the site are descriptive and educational. The WeekYear name and styling are used to identify this site and may not be used in a way that suggests endorsement of an unrelated product or service.

Output produced by the site's tools — such as the calculated week number for a date you enter, or a printed year-in-weeks grid — is yours to use freely.

Accuracy and "as is"

The site aims for accuracy in all calculations and descriptions of ISO 8601, but it is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. WeekYear does not warrant that the site will be error-free, uninterrupted, secure, or that calculations will meet your specific business or regulatory needs. Always verify critical calculations against an authoritative source.

Not professional advice

The guides on this site are general explanations of ISO 8601 and weekly planning techniques. They are not legal, financial, payroll, tax, or other professional advice. For decisions that depend on regulatory or contractual requirements, consult a qualified professional.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, WeekYear and the people who maintain it are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities, arising from your use of or inability to use the site, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Third-party links and services

The site may link to third-party websites and services, and it uses third-party providers such as Google AdSense and Google Analytics. WeekYear does not control those sites or services and is not responsible for their content, terms, or privacy practices. Use of third-party sites is at your own risk and subject to their terms.

Advertising

The site shows advertisements served through Google AdSense. Editorial content is independent of advertisers, and the presence of an ad does not imply endorsement. See the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy for details on advertising data.

Changes to the site

WeekYear may add, change, or remove features and content at any time without prior notice. URLs of long-standing pages will be preserved when reasonably possible, but no guarantee is made that any particular feature will remain available.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [Jurisdiction], without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising out of or relating to the site or these Terms will be brought in the competent courts of that jurisdiction, unless mandatory local consumer-protection rules require otherwise.

Changes to these terms

These Terms may be updated from time to time. The "Effective" date at the top of the page shows the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after a change indicates acceptance of the updated Terms. If a change is material, reasonable notice will be given on the site.
