Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the WeekYear website at weekyear.com (the "site"). It explains what information is collected when you use the site, how it is used, and the choices you have. It does not apply to third-party sites that may be linked from WeekYear.
Information collected
WeekYear does not require you to create an account, and there are no contact forms or sign-up flows. The site does not knowingly collect personal information directly from you. The information that is collected is collected automatically by your browser and by third-party services described below.
- Standard request data. Like most websites, WeekYear receives standard HTTP request data, which can include IP address, user-agent string, referring URL, and the date and time of the request. This data is used to serve pages, diagnose technical issues, and protect the site against abuse.
- Analytics data. Aggregated usage data is collected through Google Analytics (see below).
- Advertising data. The site shows ads served by Google AdSense, which may collect data through cookies and similar technologies (see below).
- Local browser storage. Some interactive features (for example, the date input on the converter and the year input on the printable planner) keep transient state inside your browser only. This data is not transmitted to the server.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored in your browser. WeekYear itself does not set first-party cookies for tracking. Cookies on the site come from the third-party services below and are used for analytics, ad delivery, and ad personalization. A full breakdown is on the Cookie Policy page.
Analytics
WeekYear uses Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-JLVSK2CBY1) to understand how pages are used in aggregate — for example, which guides are visited, how long pages load, and what general region traffic comes from. Google Analytics may set its own cookies and process data such as IP address and user-agent. See Google's Privacy Policy for details on how this data is processed.
Google AdSense and ad personalization
WeekYear is funded by display advertising delivered through Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads. As described by Google:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ad Settings or, for a broader opt-out across many networks, aboutads.info and YourOnlineChoices.
For more information about how Google uses data when you use partner sites or apps, see Google's How Google uses information page and the Google ad policies.
Third-party services
WeekYear relies on the following third-party services, each with its own privacy terms:
- Google AdSense — ad delivery and personalization.
- Google Analytics 4 — aggregated usage analytics.
- Google Tag Manager (gtag.js) — script loader for Google services.
Hosting and content delivery providers may also process request data as needed to deliver the site.
Legal bases (GDPR)
For visitors in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, the legal bases for processing are:
- Legitimate interests for serving the site, diagnosing problems, and protecting against abuse.
- Consent for non-essential cookies, including advertising and analytics cookies, where required by local law. Where a consent banner is presented, you can withdraw consent at any time through the same controls.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of personal data, to object to processing, or to data portability. Visitors in California (CCPA/CPRA) have additional rights, including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete it, and the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. Requests are handled within the timeframes required by the applicable law.
Opting out of personalized ads
- Adjust ad personalization at Google Ad Settings.
- Opt out of many ad networks at aboutads.info/choices and YourOnlineChoices.
- Use your browser's "Do Not Track," "Global Privacy Control," or cookie blocking settings.
Data retention
WeekYear does not maintain its own user database. Retention of analytics and advertising data is governed by the third-party services involved. Google Analytics data retention is configured at the property level and follows Google's defaults. Email correspondence sent to the contact address is retained only as long as needed to handle the request.
Children
WeekYear is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
International transfers
Because WeekYear uses third-party services operated by Google and other international providers, data described in this policy may be processed in jurisdictions other than your own, including the United States. Those providers use their own safeguards for international data transfers.
Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Effective" date at the top of the page. Continued use of the site after changes indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
